The Traffic Management Contractors Association (TMCA) is asking organisations across the sector, and those who work with them, to check that any claim of TMCA membership is accurate and up to date.
Following the association’s recent restructure, the previous membership categories of Associate Member and Affiliated Company have been retired and no longer form part of the TMCA’s offering. Any business still using one of these titles, or displaying an older membership logo, is presenting information that is out of date.
A Modernised Membership Structure
The TMCA’s membership model has been redesigned to better reflect the range of organisations working across the temporary traffic management sector. The new structure is intended to give more businesses a clear and genuine route into the association, while ensuring that membership is a meaningful reflection of an organisation’s role and commitment to the industry.
Time to Update Your Branding
Members are being encouraged to review where and how they reference their TMCA status, including on company websites, vehicles, documents and social media. Anyone still using the old Associate Member or Affiliated Company branding is asked to update their materials to reflect the association’s current structure and logos.
A Note for Those Procuring Services
The TMCA is also reminding those who work with, or are looking to appoint, a traffic management supplier that membership claims should not be taken at face value. An outdated logo or an unfamiliar membership title can be a sign that a company’s information has simply not been updated, or in some cases, that its membership is no longer valid.
Anyone wanting to confirm whether an organisation is a current TMCA member can do so via the association’s website, or by contacting the TMCA directly. The association says it is committed to ensuring that its members, and the businesses that work with them, can have confidence that membership claims are genuine and current.
